And to our luck elections were going on in the middle of the plaza in Madrid so we had the opportunity to witness riots, protesting, and hippies.. Here are a few pictures and a video.. This people were truly crazy and I can say I have never seen anything like this in my entire life.
Ok getting to Madrid... Is difficult for the Americans that I traveled with. Story time... We went to the Segovia Bus Station to buy our tickets, they ended up being 6.85 euros. awesome because Madrid is about a hour and a half away from Segovia. Well all of us "Americans" thought, oh we can sit anywhere we want and not bother to look at the ticket with our seat number on it... So we all sit where we want.. well the spaniards start to get on the bus and look at us all like we have lobsters crawling out of our ears and start to get angry.. Then the bus starts moving and everyone is still standing up and moving around. To say the least it was a disaster.. oh well thats the fun part...
Ah.. so finally after a lot of traffic. We arrive in Madrid!! When we got off the bus we looked like a bunch of tourists standing around in our chacos, raybans, bookbags, and suitcases.. and
went down to the metro to try to figure out where and how
we were going to get to the hostel. METRO. is an experience that I will never forget in Spain... It is very confusing with a million streets, colors, and numbers... and it cost one euro everytime you get on the metro... It drained my bank account ridiculous!! OK after a long travel on the metro 5 or 6 miles underground we arrived at the hostel. Hostel Sol... oh how I loved you.. NOT.. Hostels are not cool, but I must say all travelers must do it at least once in there life... so you can tell everyone how sketch and shady they really are. Listen people.. you have to buy your sheets, pillow cases.. you share a room with people from Winsconsin who hate your guts because you come in at 7 in the morning intoxicated and loud... HA. You share a bathroom with your whole floor.. and in my opinion, anywhere you have to where shower shoes... I would not recommend staying there... But it was a great/good experience.... Now I can say I have stayed in a hostel before.. Here is a picture before we went out later that night. Here is us pre-gaming on the roof of the hostel.. so typical...Earlier on that day we had the opportunity of a life time to go to the last Real Madrid game it was insane! I had an amazing time even though I dont like fútbol that much... But Ronaldo made it so worth it he is beautiful!!!
Also earlier that day we went to a famous churros dipped in melted chocolate.. oh so yummy.. but they are a little different from the churros that we are so used to. They are more savory than sweet... they do not have cinnamon and sugar on them like in Mexico..
Ok nightlife in Madrid is ridiculous.
Later that night after we left the hostel, we went to find a restaurant where we could have a few drinks and eat dinner. Well we stumbled upon this restaurant that looked pretty yummy so we walked in... and they were ASIANS. Asians who spoke perfect spanish, if that doesn't throw you for a loop, I do not know what would. After dinner around midnight we left to go to another bar, after about a couple of hours around 3 am we decided to go the hippest bar in Madrid called La Kapital (ironic). P.S 3am is the early time people go out... and teenagers pre-game outside of the bar with coke bottles filled with whiskeys... no open container laws in this country. We we went to Kapital, it was like something I've never seen it had six floors people.. and a whole floor dedicated to mojitos.. It was the best mojito I have ever had in my entire life!! yummy. And on the bottom floor they had dancers.. these dancers were ridiculous.. they did robotic movement and looked half naked. too much.. When i figure out how to put videos up.. I will put a video up of these so called dancers...
Next post.. 20 things that I learned about Madrid.
